Lippie Review: Colourpop US VS Colourpop SG

Lippie Review: Colourpop US VS Colourpop SG

I have been a lippie fanatic since I was in high school circa 2006. When I became a mom, I lost interest in make-up altogether for a few months but now I'm back to collecting different brands and shades of lipsticks. Personally I prefer matte lipsticks that's why when I learned about Colourpop I just knew I had to try it! I put in an order for the US and SG  authentic version each in order to compare them, especially since the SG authentic version is half the price of the US version. I bought the US version from a group buy in a mommy group on Facebook and the SG authentic version from a seller on Shopee.

I finally have both lippies today and immediately checked them for similarities and differences. I must say the box looks the same at first sight but then you notice that the SG version has a bolder print than the US version especially with the ingredients part of the box.

The bottom of the box show another difference. The US version has no serial number underneath the name of the shade while the SG version has both name and serial number.

The bottle of the lippies are similar in length. Though the print on the US version is more shiny than the SG version. The US version also has a tiny space between the bottle body and the bottle cap while the SG version shows the silver part of the body and ue a cap touch seamlessly.

Another similarity would be the bottom of the body of the bottle. Both have stickers with serial numbers but the pattern of the serial number looks different, but that may just be me nitpicking.

When you check the lip applicator,  the US version has a plumper and fuller look to it while the SG version looks thinner and sleeker in comparison.

Of course I did a swatch test with both lippies and I noticed that the SG one is more clumpy at first application while the US version glides smoothly but still richly pigmented. I tried to rub both off using a tissue but the US one was harder to wipe off compared to the SG one.

I left traces of both lippies on the back of my hand to see if there would be a skin reaction since I was warned that the SG version was not FDA approved, but thankfully there was none. My take away from this is that the difference between the US and SG version are very noticeable in the packaging and with the texture of the lipstick itself and if you are a woman who is very particular with the lippies you use then you're better off with the US version.
