          There is a new tambayan in the South! Hoy Bata PH is the baby of Mommy Yanyan and Daddy Ray. You probably already know of Mommy Yanyan because of Coco Haven which has taken over the online mommy world by storm because of their VCO infused products. Hoy Bata PH was born because she needed a physical shop to sell their Coco Haven products. Now we have a Coco Haven headquarters plus tons of other family friendly products in one store.

          There are a looooot of stuff for sale! Hoy Bata PH is a place where mompreneurs can rent a space to showcase their wares and have the option of getting a box or a stand for a month up to 6 months. They can rent an Estante which is a full stand for P2400/6 months, or a Center Kahon for P1500/6 months, or a Wall Kahon for 1200/6 months. There is also the charming idea of the Try-a-kahon where you rent a medium sized box for a month just to try it out, and that will cost you P1200. Below are the current tenants of Hoy Bata PH:

Mommy Bakes PH Sweet Indulgence by Rika Katya Republic

          My family and I dropped by their soft opening last February 26, and we were amazed at how hip, fun, and family-friendly the place was. It has homey and artsy touches as well a rustic vibe. I found out that they will be open daily for two weeks from that day and will be operating on a 9am-8pm schedule. They have a play area for the kids in one corner and an activity or snack table in front of the register. And they plan on adding activities and holding seminars for kiddos and parents alike.

          Hoy Bata PH is truly a gem of a place in the heart of the South and families can go there to shop or just chill for a while. It is a true tambayan in the South and seriously can't wait to go back there.

Carrier Review: Surya Epic Woven Wrap by Oscha Slings

          When I found out that my tester group had a chance to review an Oscha wrap, I was over the moon! Oscha Slings is a small family business from Great Britain, spearheaded by Mike and Zoe Masters in 2010. They have a workshop in Edinburgh where they craft their amazing carriers and woven accessories. Their goal was to change the way wraps are designed and made by setting up themed collections.

          I found out that we were getting a size 6 wrap and I immediately began planning how to get the most out of the time it would be with me. It was good thing that I had a beach trip at the time and I knew a wrap would be perfect for it. When the package arrived in the mail, I was so excited I was shaking. The wrap was a piece of art, the ombre of blue and green was amazing and looked like a mermaid's tail. The wrap felt so slinky and cool and I knew I would have to pull all the stops to have a good wrap job.

             I first tried a back carry and it was so slippery that it took me four tries to get a good seat for my son and by then he was clawing at my face. But once I had him secured, it was easy peasy to cart him around. The front carriers were more difficult for me then, at a tropical place where it was hot and humid, and I was hyperventilating after half an hour walk. Back in the city it was way easier to front carry where there was air-conditioning.

          As for the famed sleepy dust, I noticed that this wrap has the opposite effect and made my tyke more alert and inquisitive to our surroundings. Perhaps he felt emboldened by the sheer beauty of the wrap he was in (haha!) I found it fairly easy to breastfeed in as it was slippery as I mentioned earlier, and the experience of breastfeeding in it was really comfortable.

             I tried to get hubby to try it out but he was daunted by the length of it. My local mommy group was more eager to give it a shot and I spent an hour or so with demonstrating how to use it and letting them try it out. They were amazed at how light their babies felt in the wrap compared to when they useing their soft structured carriers and I probably converter a few into being wrap mommas. They loved how soft and slinky the wrap felt and took pictures as remembrance.

               Oscha is popular with wrap parents and I would recommend this for those would love to have an expensive but well worth it wrap in their collection. In my opinion, this beauty is not for everyday use at the market but for special occasions.
