Shadrach's Collection x IBW2017

Shadrach's Collection x IBW2017

Shadrach's Collection, led by mommy Jennelyn Torrefiel Alegrabez, will be celebrating their third anniversary as one of the best companies that sell baby carriers. They are known for their woven wraps and ring slings that come in an array of wonderful colors and weaves. Along with celebrating their anniversary, this extravaganza will also be held in honor of International Babywearing Week.

Babywearing is the art of using carriers to "wear" children in order for the wearer to do additional tasks while having the child near. This is perfect for parents without helpers or those constantly on the go. IBW aims to promote babywearing for all families and educate on the proper way to babywear and teach about the importance and benefits it brings.

There will be hundreds of celebrations going on around the globe and we invite everyone to join us this Sunday at the Robinson's Novaliches Activity Center to take part in the celebration. There will be speakers to educate newbies about babywearing and there will be a Mompreneur bazaar as well. Games, raffles, and giveaways are always on the menu and be treated to a babywearing flash mob!

For more information about the event, check out Shadrach's Collections Facebook event's page, Instagram, and website. I hope to see you there, especially since Momsterrific Misadventures is one of the official media partners!

Momzilla Top Picks

Momzilla Top Picks

Last weekend was an exciting and fun-filled two-day extravaganza for the people at Momzilla Ph. The 6th Momzilla fair happened at the Century City Mall last September 23 and 24, 2017. There were two floors of amazing mommy finds for their children, from newborns to school-aged, and some stuff for the whole family to enjoy. There were also seminars held by experts which pregnant couples and first-time parents could attend to get additional information about their kiddos. If parents want to chill in between bouts of shopping and seminars, there were play areas for the kids to enjoy while the mommies and daddies watched from a distance. The Momzilla fair ran for two days from 10 AM to 8 PM.

I love going to the Momzilla fairs. Of course, I love to shop for bargains and this time was no different. I bought a few stuff from some of the highly recommended stalls at the fair and I want to share what my top picks are! Read on to find out.

1. Beginnings Baby - White is best for newborns and infants. When I was pregnant I splurged on tie-sides, jammies and all sorts of white clothing from Beginnings Baby. Their sizes run big so my son was able to wear their size 9-12s until he was 2. I just wish they had a toddler line! But I still buy their washcloths and love giving their clothing as gifts to my preggy friends!

2. Fun Nest - They have tons of great stuff for kids and their newest ball pit is something I fell in love with. There are also oodles of knick-knacks available like their Santa sacks and wall decor. I love their bean bags and shelves and wall calendars that look so homey and classy at the same time. And their best-selling teepees were on sale for P3000 only!

3. Decal Bar - I admit this is an addiction of mine: stickers! They had pre-cut stickers that serve as wall decals or you can use them on laptops, phones or other stuff you want to stick on. A big plus is they are waterproof so even if you place them on tumblers and lunch boxes they won't wash away. They can also personalize stickers which I loved and got some for my son and for my own brand Momsterrific Misadventures.

4. Honest Junk - Say hello to the newest gummy craze! They have flavors for both kids and adults (spikes). They are best known for their Cheese Barks, Super Gummies, Zooper Cookies and Gummy SpikesI got some pink guava for my kiddo and he devoured them in minutes!

5. Copii Kids - I am a bag lover and when I saw their bags I absolutely loved them! There are so many designs that kids would go crazy for and the material is so soft because it's made of neoprene. There had some buy 1 take 1 deals that are a steal too! Personally, I wanted the panda one.

6. Kimochi Aroma - known for their thermotherapy and adorable herbal pillows, Kimochi Aroma went on sale last weekend. You can get 2 of their large herbal pillows for P1000. I love how their pillows can be used for carpal tunnel, digestion problems, menstrual cramps and breast pain when breastfeeding.

7. Urban Mom - one of the biggest companies in modern educational toys, Urban Mom boasts of cloth books and wooden kiddie gadgets. For parents wanting to teach their children through play, this is the store for you. I love the wooden toys most of all, like the cutting fruits and vegetables, especially since my son aspires to be a chef.

8. Magformers - perfect for pre-school and grade school children as this will teach them how to manipulate objects and how to build using their imaginations. The shapes are lightweight and magnetic and can lead to hours of fun in making their own creations. In this digital age, any play that doesn't require a screen is precious so parents need to find toys like Magformers to enhance sensory play.

9. Le Petit Mamon -  If you're looking for stylish furniture and decor for your kiddos, you need to check them out here. I have to admit that the wooden cameras caught my eye. They also have amazing wooden shelves and dollhouses that work as a toy and storage area at the same time.

10. Messy Bessy - I am a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning and so Messy Bessy is a must buy for me. Their surface cleaner and hand sanitizer smell so nice and their detergents work really well on our cloth diapers. Since the cleaners are biodegradable they are safe for infants and children. Also, support local!

If you liked what you saw and want to see more, check out the next Momzilla fair on November 3-4, 2017 to be held at the Century City Mall again.
Follow Momzilla on Instagram to be updated! In the meantime, check out the other amazing products I saw last weekend.

Raising Gen Z

Raising Gen Z

Zentennials are those kids considered to be Post-Millennials, or the iGeneration, and are kids born in 2000 or later. The Philippines is one of the countries with the biggest number of Zentennials, with a whopping 30% of the population. They are the teens with the iPhones and the kids addicted to Minecraft. I was super happy to be invited to such a huge event that covers parenting that is generationally-targeted. Thanks to Mommy Mundo and Our Awesome Planet for coming up with Zentennials: The Making of the Greatest Filipino Generation.

This was a whole day event that featured amazing experts who shared their experiences and knowledge with the parents in attendance. Tickets were available at P1,500 single Rate, P1,200 for couples and P1,000 for groups of 5 or more. Based on their Facebook page, the main point of the symposium is:

The very first conference of its kind, Zentennials: The Making of the Greatest Filipino Generation will gather the country’s top experts, advocates, and influencers from the digital, academe, business, and parenting spheres. More than gaining a deeper understanding of Generation Z, Zentennials hopes to school this generation and their parents with the proper knowledge and skills to become successful content producers. The vision of Zentennials is to transform the Philippines into the social media capital of the world in terms of content production, bringing the Filipinos’ creativity and ingenuity into the global arena.

Here are some of the highlights of the day:

I learned a lot from the speakers they had, and the lessons were everything from being a mom to being a wife to being a teacher to being a boss. I feel so privileged to be able to attend such a wonderful event and I hope there are more events like this, as parents and educators alike will benefit a lot from the topics especially in this digital age. Thank you also to major sponsors PLDT Fibr, Belo Baby, and Sunlife. Thank you to RJ Dancel and Millennial Moms PH for inviting me.
