Product Review: Oleia Topical Oil

Product Review: Oleia Topical Oil

I'm one of those moms who became prone to neck aches and headaches after their kid turned two. Haha! All parents must have gone through major stress with their children. So when I was offered to try Oleia Topical Oil, I went why not? For a brief background, Oleia was founded by Angie, a Biochemist who wanted a natural solution to body pain. She put together a mixture of olive oil, moringa oil, virgin coconut oil, pomegranate seed oil, rice bran oil and other premium oils, and Oleia Oil was born. She claims that Oleia Oil relieves chronic inflammation, muscle pains, skin irritation, migraine, psoriasis, asthma attacks, sports injuries, dysmenorrhea, dermatitis, and tendonitis. The good thing about Oleia Oil is that it doesn't have camphor, methyl salicylate and mineral oil as ingredients. These are known to cause liver and kidney damage when applied topically.

My problem areas are my feet (I've had trouble with foot pain for over a month), my nape (stress) and head (stress). For over a week I have been applying Oleia Oil (the lavender one) to my feet and nape and temples. On days when I remember to do so, the pain disappears after an hour in my observation, especially the stress pains. On days when I neglect to apply the oil, especially to my feet, I have trouble standing. Another amazing side benny was my asthma attacks started to lessen since I have been using Oleia. This is not a miracle cure by any chance but a very scientific approach. The oils combat inflammation which makes the pain disappear. I have been a fan of essential oils for a while now and have played around with different blends for pain relief but I like how Oleia Oil is ready-made for days when I am too tired to blend on my own.

I am sure most of you have go-to lotions and potions for pain but I recommend trying Oleia especially since it is safe for breastfeeding moms and children. They have had it tested. I am happy I found out about Oleia and will surely keep stock on hand for me and my family. Want to try it out for yourself? You can order online especially since they have bundles for sale with freebies! They come in 3 variants: lavender, peppermint, and chamomile. Also, make sure to connect with them on Facebook and Instagram for news about this great oil that really does what it advertises safely.

Nursing MommiesPH's Boobstacular Costume Party 2017 Goes Bigger!

Nursing MommiesPH's Boobstacular Costume Party 2017 Goes Bigger!

I personally love Halloween especially the dressing up part and the getting candies bit. So I was totally juiced to be invited to cover the event Boobstacular Costume Party 2017 held by Nursing MommiesPH and My Crib PH. The event targeted mothers who breastfeed their children and welcomed breastmilk donations for the premature babies at the NICU of the Philippine General Hospital. I have been breastfeeding my son for 30 months and counting so I really wanted to attend.  They chose the PBA Cafe at Metrowalk to be the venue and more than 400 attendees fit inside.

The day promised to be fun and exciting with the promise of a magic show, games for moms and dads, a costume parade, trick or treating and lots of raffles and prizes! They held a pre-registration and the event also welcomed walk-in attendees. There were also booths my mompreneurs where eventgoers could shop for clothes and food and other stuff.

One of the speakers was Tatay Jaime de Guzman, a peer counselor, and breastfeeding advocate who spoke about the importance of a husband's support in the breastfeeding journey of mom and child. He spoke of the acronym KASAMA:

Know the journey
Actively involve yourself
Shield your family from prejudice
Always be positive
Make mommy happy
Aspire to be the best supportive tatay

Then there was the Sunlife financial talk by Rachel Anne Castaneda who spoke about the importance of saving in times of hardship and tragedy.

There were plaques of appreciation given to Nanay Ynez Fernandez ng Arugaan and JS Unitrade and EQ Diapers for their support of the event. Other noteworthy awards were: Best in Costume - Baby, Best Dressed Family of the Ball, Most Creative Costume, Happy Latching Award and Belle and Prince of the Ball.

Imagine my surprise when my son won Prince of the Ball! See his costume below!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Boobstacular Costume Party and we can't wait until next year! Stay tuned on Facebook and Instagram for announcements. Here are some additional photos to tide us over until then.
